Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data UnoByte ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use unobyte.in, how we use it, the cookies and local storage we rely on, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
1. Who we are
UnoByte is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions or wish to exercise your rights, contact us at contact@unobyte.in.
2. What data we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and the message you send us.
- Direct contact: if you email or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever information you include.
We do not run advertising or analytics tracking on this site, and we do not build profiles or sell your data.
3. How we use your data and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the information or services you request — legal basis: your consent and/or our legitimate interest in responding to you, and where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam or abuse — legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the site.
4. Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The site stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage to remember your preferences. These are strictly necessary / functional and are set only on your device:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ub-theme | Local storage (functional) | Remembers your light/dark mode choice. | Until you clear it |
| ub-consent | Local storage (necessary) | Remembers your cookie-consent choice so we don't ask again. | Until you clear it |
If we ever add analytics or marketing tools in the future, they will load only after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer.
5. Third parties who process data for us
- EmailJS — delivers your contact-form message to our inbox. Your name, email, and message pass through EmailJS solely to send us that email. See EmailJS's privacy policy at emailjs.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Our hosting provider — serves the website and may process technical data such as IP addresses in server logs for security and reliability.
- Fonts are self-hosted — we do not load fonts from Google or any third-party font CDN, so no data is shared with them when you view the site.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry emails only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR / UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data; correct it; erase it; restrict or object to its processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@unobyte.in and we will respond within one month.
8. International transfers
Some of our processors (such as EmailJS) may process data on servers outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are relied upon to protect your data.
9. Children
This site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
11. Contact
For any privacy question or request, contact contact@unobyte.in.
